Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is coming up and Ficoa Toronto is excited to introduce a selection of specially crafted dishes to their feature tasting menu and à la carte menu from October 30th to November 2nd, celebrating the spirit of this vibrant tradition. Drawing on his rich Mexican heritage, Head Chef Gerry Quintero has created an exclusive feature menu that beautifully blends authentic Mexican flavours with his innovative and often eclectic culinary artistry.

Día de los Muertos is celebrated in Mexico from October 31st to November 2nd, coinciding with All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. This festival is dedicated to honouring loved ones who have passed away through joyful gatherings, colourful offerings, and lively music. Rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions, this holiday transforms remembrance into celebration.

A standout offering from the feature menu is the Ofrenda dessert, which incorporates marigolds—known as ‘flor de muerto’ or ‘flower of the dead’—a symbol of the holiday’s traditional beauty.
