“truthfully.” – A Stand-Up Comedy Fundraiser with Habib Siam and Friends

13 October @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

CAD$27.96

Lebanese stand-up comic Habib Siam presents “truthfully” – a stand-up comedy fundraiser for emergency Lebanon relief.

In the wake of devastating nation-wide attacks, Lebanon is facing an unprecedented crisis. Thousands of casualties with an estimated 1,000,000 displaced people – over 20% of the total population.

As a comic, Habib has always used his stand-up to help raise awareness about the situation in the Middle East – experiencing war, navigating dissonant realities, and making sense of a world that is increasingly unrecognizable.

Fundraising efforts

Habib started organizing emergency fundraising shows last week and launched a GoFundMe to help raise additional funds.

The Montreal event sold out and helped raise $1,950. The GoFundMe is at $5,200. That’s a total of $7,150 in 6 days – with all funds going to support displaced families secure basic needs.

The recipient

Nation Station is a grassroots initiative – by the community, for the community – free from religious or political affiliation. They are currently working to provide basic and urgent needs to displaced families – meals, mattresses, clothes, medication, and more.
